THE TF1 GROUP WELCOMES
THE VOTE ON THE NEW DIRECTIVE ON “COPYRIGHT “
IN THE DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET

TF1 group welcomes the vote on 26 March in the European Parliament on the new directive on copyright in the digital single market. This vote undeniably constitutes a real awareness within the European Union of the urgent need to recreate a level playing field for the cultural sector with regard to digital giants.

The TF1 group calls for the acceleration of this movement and invites the French public authorities to provide an important role for independent national public authorities in order to guarantee the effectiveness of the anti-piracy measures that will be put in place by the platforms, as well as, as recommended by the Competition Authority in its recent opinion, to restore regulatory flexibility to French television groups.
