CREATION OF THE NEWEN FOUNDATION

We are delighted to announce the creation of the Newen Foundation, dedicated to supporting and nurturing future broadcasting industry talents in all their diversity.
At its first Board meeting, the Foundation decided to support the European Screenwriting Conservatory (CEEA) by awarding bursaries to two student screen-writers.

Newen and CEEA have a shared ambition to promote French drama and nurture talent. That’s why the Newen Foundation – chaired by Bibiane Godfroid, and consisting of 11 members* – has decided to support these students.

Founded in 1996 on the initiative of broadcasting industry professionals and institutions, CEEA is a non-profit organisation headed up by Patrick Vanetti. It is the only school in France dedicated solely to training screenwriters, and advocates for the professionalisation of drama writers.

To help students complete their education in the best possible circumstances, the Newen Foundation has set up a system of study bursaries. Assessed on objective, pre-determined criteria, the bursaries will provide successful applicants with €20,000 over their two-year course.

This partnership aims to remove some of the obstacles associated with the cost of studying in Paris, and to encourage diversity in the French creative sector. It’s an important commitment for us in our role as France’s leading drama producer”.
Bibiane Godfroid, Chairwoman of Newen

Broadcast drama professionals and CEEA’s partners are convinced that encouraging multiple viewpoints is crucial to the future health of our creative industries”.
