Winners of the second "Grand Prix Patrick Bourrat"

The second Grand Prix Patrick Bourrat launched by TF1 and LCI on 12 May concludes today. The competition is open to students from 14 journalism schools recognised by the profession. Four winners have been selected after ten days of competition for their performance in a number of disciplines, including image commentary, live recordings and on-location reporting.

Here, then, are this year's winners, whose performances have earned them a fixed-term work contract.

Commenting, Catherine Nayl, Executive Vice President, News and Information, at the TF1 group, said: "This award carries the name of Patrick Bourrat, a journalist whose key focus was the idea of transmission - the transmission of information, of eyewitness accounts, and of his experience, too. Once again, it is those values that we want to see our prize uphold this year."

Antoine Guélaud, Editor-in-Chief at TF1, said: "TF1 organised the annual Prix TF1 Reportage until 2003, and then the Prix Francis Bouygues, which was awarded to the most promising young journalists. It enabled us to recruit a number of journalists. It seemed natural to us that the TF1 group once again organize a merit-based award."

Anne de Coudenhove, Editor-in-Chief at LCI, said: "To stay on its toes, a news team has to regularly take on young and talented journalists. The Grand Prix Patrick Bourrat gives us just that opportunity."
