TF1 Initiatives Works with Sidaction
TF1 Initiatives Works with Sidaction
A Sidaction partner since the organisation was founded 24 years ago, the TF1 group continued our partnership with the association from 19 to 25 March through TF1 Initiatives. A look at the week's events.
TV spots hosted by presenters were broadcast to raise awareness and donations
The TF1 group provided advertising air time free of charge on its channels to associations so that they could broadcast spots to raise awareness and funds for Sidaction. Throughout the weekend, several spots featuring presenters from our group were also broadcast, encouraging viewers to call 110. Nikos Aliagas, Tatiana Silva, Harry Roselmack, Christophe Beaugrand and Pascale de La Tour du Pin were all on hand to support Sidaction, and the fundraising spots were broadcast all week long during different programmes on the TV channels.
The Week-long Sidaction Special on 12 Coups de midi
The programme Les 12 coups de midi featured a whole week focusing on Sidaction, during which the presenters tried to raise the most money to fight AIDS. In all, 135,000 euros were raised for the charity. The check was presented to Florence Thune, managing director of Sidaction, who was in the audience throughout the week to support these generous efforts. The money will be used for research and to help other associations with prevention efforts.
News gets in on the action at 1 pm and 8 pm
Jean-Pierre Pernaut and Gilles Bouleau devoted several reports to the association during their respective news programmes. Line Renaud was in the studio on Thursday, 22 March for the news at 8 pm to kick off the partnership, accompanied by Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, president of Sidaction and an expert in HIV. She is known for helping to discover the virus that causes AIDS, for which she won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2008. See their full interview on MYTF1.fr.
Short "Ensemble contre le Sida" programmes
Five short programmes were developed with TF1 Production, taking the form of person-on-the-street interviews. They were broadcast all week long and asked everyday people to talk about AIDS. Passers-by were quizzed about how the HIV virus is transmitted. See all the short programmes on MYTF1.fr.
Lolywood and the "A text that changes everything" campaign
The Lolywood collective, whose videos are broadcast on TFX, uploaded a funny video in support of Sidaction to their YouTube channel. This video was for the "A text that changes everything" campaign, where people can make a five-euro donation to the charity by texting the word "DON" to 92110.
Over 4.4 million euros were raised during this year's campaign, more than the amount collected last year. Even when the fundraising campaign is not in full swing, you can still donate to the Sidaction organisation throughout the year. Visit https://don.sidaction.org/.
