TF1 POSTS GROWTH IN OCTOBER.
SECOND BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR WITH A 23.6% AUDIENCE SHARE
Boosted by powerful and robust programming across all strategic segments, TF1 is strengthening its position as the unique leader in French television. The channel continues to grow, taking a 23.6% audience share* in October, up 0.2 points year on year. TF1 outdistanced its closest rival by 10.4 audience share points. It was also the only channel to draw over 7m TV viewers - and did so 52 times in the month.
1/ News shows grow year on year and score their best ratings since March 2013
- The 8 o'clock news: 6.9m TV viewers on average for an increased 28% share, and a high of 8.5 viewers (30.4% share) on Sunday 3 November.
- The 1 o'clock news: 6.4m viewers, up 300,000, for an average share of 44%, and a high of 7.2m viewers last Monday.
- Best ratings since the back-to-school period for Reportages, with 4.9m viewers and a 37.1% share, and for Sept à Huit, with 5.1m viewers and a 24.2% share.
2/ TF1 drew an average 6.4m viewers in prime time, up 200,000 year on year. On average, the channel attracted 3m more viewers than its closest rival.
- The qualifying match between France and Finland for the 2014 FIFA Soccer Cup (Tuesday 15 October) attracted 7.7m viewers (29% share) and 41% of men under 50, hitting a peak of 9m in the closing stages.
- The new season of Profilage set a record with 8.2m viewers (31% share) and 30% of WPDM<50** (Thursday 10 October).
- 7.1m viewers (26% share) and nearly 1 child in 2 (45% of 4-14 year-olds) tuned in to the new episode of Joséphine ange gardien (Tuesday 21/10).
- Crossing Lines got off to an impressive start, with 7.6m viewers (28.3% share), 30% of WPDM<50 and 31% of Shoppers*** (Thursday 17/10).
- US series posted excellent ratings, with up to 9.4m viewers for the new season of The Mentalist (34% share) and 42% of WPDM<50 (Tuesday 08/10). The new season of Criminal Minds drew a high of 8.5m viewers (31% share) and 42% of WPDM<50 (Wednesday 09/10).
- Danse avec les stars set a record with 6.5m viewers (31% share), 37% of WPDM<50, 46% of 15-24 year-olds and 47% of children (4-14 year-olds).
- MasterChef scored a high of 4.5m viewers (21% share), 26% of WPDM<50 and 32% of children (4-14 year-olds) on Friday evening.

3/ Access shows on strong form
- At midday, a high of 4.4m viewers for Les 12 coups de midi.
- At 4.35 pm, a high of 2.2m viewers for 4 mariages pour une lune de miel.
- At 5.25 pm, a high of 2.7m viewers for Bienvenue chez nous.
- At 6.20 pm, a high of 3.3m viewers for Une famille en or.
- At 7.05 pm, a high of 5m viewers for Le Juste Prix.
- At 8.45 pm, a high of 9.5m viewers for C'est Canteloup!
