For my final-year internship, I was lucky enough to obtain a position at TF1 Films Production as a cinema management assistant. My main job is to collect the income generated by films in the TF1 Films Production catalogue, managing and auditing the operating accounts of films across all media, including theatres, TV, DVDs, VOD, and international sales.
A company operating a film by TF1 Films Production has to pay it a percentage of the profits generated by the film. I also have to make sure that the producers are paid the commission indicated in the co-production contract.
I work with really open people, who are there for me when I need them
My job brings me into contact with a number of people in the different structures of the TF1 group, including TF1 Droits Audiovisuels. I settled into the department very quickly. The people I work with every day are really open and there for me when I need them. Even though my main focus is finance, the position as cinema management assistant has enabled me to put my legal knowledge to use in this field.
My experience at TF1 is very rewarding. It allows me to combine two of my favourite fields – cinema and finance – and I hope to continue in this direction.
