Vincent, Radio sales assistant (TF1 Publicité)

Vincent is doing an MBA in Marketing Management on a work-study basis at Pôle Paris Alternance.

"I joined the radio department at TF1 Publicité which sells ad space on the 128 local radios of the Indés Radios economic interest group. As part of my MBA in Marketing Management, I work as radio sales assistant. I help TF1 Publicité sales staff in one of their main assignments, i.e. responding to briefs* from advertisers and media agencies. We also provide them with communication plans adapted to their geographical territory and target, or what we call “panoramas” in ad jargon.

I am responsible for a range of tasks, including identifying direct advertisers (those that don’t go through advertising networks) and proposing sales offers corresponding to customer requests. I also take part in sales meetings that give me a window on another aspect of the business and on the existing links with our agency and advertiser contacts.

A fresh vision and new ideas

The work-study format is as beneficial to the company as it is to the student. The student gets to continue his academic course while gaining real-life professional experience. As an intern, I bring a fresh vision to the team and generate new ideas. I’m now seen as an employee in my own right with responsibilities and objectives to be met, which I find really motivating.

This professional experience has confirmed my aim to work in an advertising network as a customer manager.”

*A brief consists of an advertiser’s campaign objectives, target, budgets, constraints and strategy.
